Planets in the Night Sky

I have really enjoyed looking at the planets this week in the night sky.  Here is the picture my dad took with his camera from our back porch on Sunday night.

The planets are Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter in this shot, and Saturn has been viewable in the southeastern sky as well.

There is a new planetarium show at the Herrett Center called Light Years from Andromeda.  Check out the cool shows at the CSI museum this summer!

The planetarium’s summer lineup, including Light Years From Andromeda, starts Tuesday, May 28. The new program will be shown at 3:30 p.m. each Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Other shows are: How to Build a Planet at 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; WSKY: Radio Station of the Stars along with a live hosted sky tour on the planetarium dome at 2 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays; Led Zeppelin: Maximum Volume 1 at 8:15 p.m. Tuesdays; Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon at 8:15 p.m. Fridays; and U2 at 8:15 p.m. on Saturdays.

For more information, please contact the Herrett Center for Arts and Science at 732-6655 or go to its website at Herrett.csi.edu.
