Winter Ecology at Craters of the Moon National Monument
The 8th grade girls of Declo Junior High had a great day at Craters. This field trip was possible because of some funding through the National Park Service. I am so glad that their teacher made the arrangements. After some winter ecology education, we spent some time snowshoeing in the park. It was perfect weather with some fresh snow. Tomorrow the boys get to come. It was a very smart idea to split them up. I think it gives them a chance to listen and take it all in without worrying about what they look like! :)

Great Teacher Opportunity for PBL and AL
I am a fan of field trips, but adventure learning is even better because there is a higher expectation for student learning. Here is a wonderful opportunity for teachers in the Magic Valley to work with a team at Craters of the Moon.

Craters of the Moon Lecture March 13
I have loved my visits to Craters. What a great place to learn about Geology and Anthropology. This lecture is being hosted in Gooding at the CSI Outreach Center there. It should be very interesting!

Field Trip to Craters on the Moon
Today I got to hike and explore Craters of the Moon with my 6th grader and 90 of her friends. What a fun and exhausting day! I am so grateful for dedicated teachers who make these kinds of experiences possible. Craters is a National Monument and full of caves and craters and critters. It is GEOLOGY LIVE!
So I will post a few more weekend activities tomorrow! Still lots to share!
